Print graduate wins TAFE state medal

Simone was among the 48 graduates from TAFE NSW – Sydney Institute to win TAFE NSW's most prestigious award, which is presented annually to students graduating with the highest average mark in the state. She completed her course last year at Sydney Institute's Design Centre Enmore.

Marie Persson, director-general of TAFE and Community Education says, "TAFE NSW receives more than 500,000 enrolments each year. State Medal winners have not only demonstrated great expertise in their field, but have proven they are the best in the state. Graduates of this calibre add to TAFE's reputation as a quality provider of education and training."

Simone says the highlight of her time at TAFE was the end of year exhibition, which involved all the College design disciplines collaborating to showcase their work. She says, "The end of year exhibition at Enmore was fantastic. It's a chance to showcase your work for your family and friends and people from industry. It's very rewarding to be able to display your work publicly," she said.

Simone is now a Junior Studio Artist at Saatchi and Saatchi, The Rocks. The forty-eight winning students were presented their awards by Deputy Director-General of TAFE and Community Education, Marie Persson at an awards night at Ultimo College.
