Print mag launches for ultra-wealthy travellers

Entrepreneur Jack Freeman has unveiled the luxury travel industry’s latest publishing jewel with the launch of his eponymous magazine The Freeman Journal, targeted towards the ultra-wealthy travellers of Australasia.

The A4 80pp magazine, which is published both online and in a quarterly print version, is mailed to an invitation-only subscriber list with a print run of 5,000 per issue.

The Freeman Journal has placed its elite print run to Sydney-based printer Spotpress, and has plans to increase production in the next eighteen months.

Founder and editor-in-chief Jack Freeman says the magazine’s print content is still devoured by a large pool of affluent travellers despite a declining publishing industry.

“While many sceptics argue the days of print publishing are near end, we prove to challenge this concept offering affluent communities a dedicated magazine with quality content geared towards a discerning and time-poor audience,” says Freeman.

“Many of our readers prove to live out fast-paced lifestyles and seek out to attain the finest luxuries and most importantly bespoke and exclusive product, representing their personality and style.

Thus we strive to scour the globe daily in search of the most-rare and exotic destinations, high jewelry, prestige limited edition automobiles, private aircraft and superyachts, exclusive real estate, high-fashion coveted events and high-profile interview.”

The magazine itself is printed in a book-like format and sent to its invitation-only readers, creating what Freeman calls a ‘club-like readership experience’.

Despite an initial print run of only 5000 for its first several issues, the title expects to grow its subscriber base within the next year in a bid to compete with a fierce luxury publishing industry.
