Print4All Conference 2023 paves the path to Print4All 2025

The Print4All Conference, held on July 11, 2024, by Acimga and Argi in collaboration with Fiera Milano, was a significant milestone on the road to the Print4All event scheduled for May 27-30, 2025 in Milan. The conference gathered over 400 operators, 26 speakers, 15 industry associations, and 50 foreign delegates from 17 countries, highlighting the buoyancy and innovation of the printing and converting sectors.

The opening session featured discussions outlining the vision for Print4All 2025. The event aims to serve as an integrated platform for services and networking, important for companies in the printing and converting industries. The three main themes of the event are convergence, experience, and networking, underscoring the interconnected nature of printing applications, technologies, and market segments.

Innovation and Sustainability

Print4All 2025 will be part of The Innovation Alliance, held concurrently with Ipack-Ima, Greenplast, and Intralogistica Italia, showcasing innovations across various stages of the industrial production process. This integration highlights the event’s systemic approach, supported by major stakeholders including Italian industry publishers and associations and international organisations like ERA and Global Print.

Paper and Graphics Supply Chain

Michele Bianchi, president of the Federazione Carta e Grafica, emphasised the resilience of the paper and graphics supply chain, which contributes 1.3 percent to the Italian GDP with a turnover of 27.2 billion euros. Despite a challenging economic environment, the sector shows robust performance, with the Italian paper industry ranking second in Europe.

Technological Advancements

Stefano Portolani of Stratego Group presented data on 856 printing companies, indicating significant revenues and employment in the sector despite global challenges. A technology specialist, Pat McGrew, discussed the role of sustainability and digital transformation in the industry, highlighting trends such as automation, AI integration, and data-driven workflow efficiency.

AI in Industrial Automation

Andrea Camisani, CTO of Camozzi Automation, explored the impact of artificial intelligence on industrial automation. AI enhances efficiency, precision, and safety in production processes, offering tools for predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, quality control, and process optimisation. However, he sites industry challenges concerning AI’s potential include addressing computing power and data management.

Industry Collaboration and Trends

Creatives, Brand Owners, and Printers

Afternoon workshops and round tables featured discussions among brand owners, creative agencies, and printers. Emerging trends include the demand for emotional and authentic branding, simplification in packaging design, and the creative use of corrugated cardboard. The shift towards on-demand production and sustainable practices was also highlighted, with companies focusing on innovative solutions and holistic approaches to meet evolving consumer preferences.
