Printcity unveils long distance MBA

The programme will offer a three-stage structure of certificate, diploma and MBA levels, that lead to the award of the prestigious Manchester Business School MBA degree. It will be offered through a combination of distance learning, face-to-face residential sessions and IT support. The course is designed for the working manager. First student intake is set for July 2004.

PrintCity says that until now there has been no high quality MBA programme that is both specifically designed to meet the industry’s needs and to be accessible regardless of geographical location. The groups says that through the co-operation of PrintCity, Manchester Business School and HdM, the industry will have global access to an accredited MBA programme from one of the world’s leading business schools without interrupting a manager’s professional working life.

PrintCity will perform the role of industry liaison for the Print-Media MBA, advising and ensuring that the content of the degree remains completely up to date with latest industry practice. PrintCity comprises many of the industry’s leading players including MAN Roland, Agfa and Adobe, and is best known for its joint participation at drupa and Ipex.

HdM Stuttgart is Germany’s leading print-media university and brings its specialist industry experience and high quality teaching to the programme. The Fachhochschule Stuttgart – Hochschule der Medien (HdM) is the only educational institute in Europe to cover every media field and is a full-service university for the media industry. The University celebrated its centenary this year.

Founded in 1965 as one of the very first business schools in the UK, Manchester Business School is now firmly established on the global stage as a centre of excellence for management teaching, research and the provision of corporate services. MBS is part of The University of Manchester, one of the largest universities in the UK with around 1,500 academic staff and 23,000 students. The school is acknowledged as one of the top ten business schools in Europe.
