Carbon8 was named 'Overall Grand Winner, HP Indigo' at the HP Print Excellence Awards for the Asia-Pacific and Japan, having won in two categories.
Photobook firm Momento Pro received the gong for 'Grand Winner, Photobooks, HP Indigo', having also won in two categories.
Point-of-sale specialist Next Printing claimed gold for 'Exhibition & Events, HP Sign & Display', while Opus Group's large-format printer, Cactus Imaging, won 'Innovative Application & Unique Media, HP Sign & Display'.
The sixth annual HP awards celebrated excellence on HP Scitex and Indigo printers. The Asia-Pacific section attracted almost 300 entries from 14 countries across 25 categories, with the winners announced in Beijing on 12 May.
Carbon8 business development manager Darrin Marshall told ProPrint that one of the firm's two gold-medal entries was its Listen self-promotion calendar, which was printed on an HP Indigo 5500 and Indigo 3500.
The other winning entry was a brochure for design agency Houston that featured Lend Lease as the end client. It was an investors document for the Barangaroo casino development and was produced on an Indigo 7600, said Marshall.

"We designed the slip case, which was created with 340gsm Knight Vellum, with a deboss and a clear foil.
"The cover was printed with a PMS colour, custom diecut including inside cover document flap, with white foil copy. The internals were printed on 140gsm Saxton Digital, four-colour plus PMS throughout.
"The book was produced in two separate runs, the first of 300 and the second of 200. We matched all elements of the book across both runs exactly."
Next Printing has now won Asia-Pacific gold medals in each of the past three years, and also took out last year's international award for 'Retail POS'.
This latest success came from the "world-record" re-board model of Sydney Tower that Next Printing produced last year.
"The flexibility of HP Scitex FB7600 allowed us to turn around the project in a very tight timeframe," general manager Romeo Sanuri told ProPrint.
"It took three weeks from concept to building the trade stand, and used 80 sheets of 10mm and 16mm re-board. Design took one week, printing and cutting took two days, but best of all it took just five hours to fold and assemble our stand."
Cactus was awarded gold for a building wrap for the Sydney Town Hall that was produced on an HP Scitex XP5500.
General manager of strategic development Keith Ferrel said: "With just 48 hours to finish and install the massive wrap, we really put the Scitex to the test. The end result was a realistic look with high-colour accuracy. Our customer was thrilled."
Update: A number of winners had not been announced at the time of publication.
Other Australian winners included OSS Digital, Intelligent Media and Pic Press.
OSS Digital won the 'Retail POS' category and finished second to Next Printing in 'Exhibition & Events'.
Intelligent Media won gold in 'Direct Mail & Transpromo' and Pic Press received a special recognition award for 'Limited Edition & Art Reproduction'.
