PrintEx07 draws industry heavyweights

In a major coup for PrintEx07, this will be the first time that HP has had a stand-alone presence at a key Australian exhibition. HP will feature alongside other leading industry heavyweights including FujiFilm, Canon, Currie Group and Heidelberg.

HP elected to exhibit at PrintEx following its recent acquisition of Scitex Vision, which means the company now has a full range of digital solutions for print service providers – from the smallest copy shop to the largest commercial printer.

“PrintEx07 allows us to showcase the HP Scitex industrial solutions for wide and super-wide format, indoor and outdoor graphics, along with the large format Designjet and HP Indigo digital presses under the one roof for the first time in Australia,” says Karen Kam, marketing manager, HP Scitex, Hewlett-Packard Asia Pacific.

“In the industrial space, we will be exhibiting an HP Scitex TJ8500 printer, along with a new high speed UV digital printer utilising the recently announced HP Scitex X2 Printhead.”

The HP Scitex TJ8500 printer is the latest UV-based industrial wide-format digital printer and is said to be one of the fastest printers of its kind to create high-quality images that last up to two years in outdoor use. It is a high-productivity device with a number of print modes, with speeds up to 400sqm/hr on sheets as large as 165x370cm.

Recognising PrintEx07 as an opportune event for the entire industry, this will be the third time Epson has featured at a PrintEx exhibition.

“PrintEx07 offers an excellent platform to showcase our range of market leading proofing products. The exhibition brings the entire printing industry together, creating a forum that allows exhibitors to catch-up with valued customers and channel partners,” says Craig Heckenberg, Business Unit manager, Epson Australia.

Visitors to PrintEx07 can see first hand and learn about the impressive features of Epson’s new Stylus Pro 3800, as well as the 800 printer series Stylus Pro 4800, 7800 and 9800 and 400 printer series Stylus Pro 4400, 7400 and 9400.

“Our products include Micro Piezo Inkjet Technology allowing accurate dot placement and high image quality, UltraChrome Ink Technology giving a wide colour gamut and reproducing accurate and consistent colour. With Epson printers our complete range means we have a printer for all printing and proofing applications regardless of site location, onsite or remote,” says Heckenberg.

PrintEx07 Exhibition Organiser, Brian Thomas, Reed Exhibitions, says Epson’s continuing support reflects the significance of the exhibition amongst industry members.

“With the latest products and technologies from quality and well-recognised suppliers, PrintEx has really become a high calibre, must-attend event for the printing and graphics industry,” says Thomas.

PrintEx07 will take place in Halls 4, 5 & 6, Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre, Darling Harbour from Thursday, May 24 to Saturday May 26 2007. The exhibition is presented by Graphic Arts Merchants Association of Australia (GAMAA) and the Printing Industries Association of Australia (PIAA).
