The award night gives the printing industry the opportunity
to publicly recognise its most talented graduates in areas such as print
finishing, printing, screen printing and pre-press.

The eight finalists nominated for the awards are Anna Moran
from Central West Group of Apprentices, Ali Bazzi from Hannan print, Joshua
Merrin from Braddon Printing, Allan Moar from Wazzup Screen Printing, Amanda Wright from
Cumberland Press, Jason Seymour- Munn from Craft Printing, Kethachone Siyavong
from McMillan Print Group and Matthew Hayne from HVS Solutions.

This year's winner will go on to compete with winners from Victoria, Western Australia,
South Australia and Queensland at a national conference next
year.

The finalists will compete for two prizes, the $15,000 GAMAA
– LIA National Graduate Scholarship Prize and The LIA – Printing Industries Future Leaders Award an all expenses paid
trip to the Ipex exhibition in the UK.

The keynote speaker at the NSW event will be Rachael Robertson
who successfully led the 58th Australian National Antarctic Research Expedition
to Davis Station. She is only the second female to ever lead a team at the station.

Bob Lamont, the LIA's Executive officer says, "This is a
rare opportunity to hear first hand how Rachael faced the challenges of a
hostile environment, leadership in very difficult circumstances and how
managing fear, managing calculated risks and performing under pressure brings
success."

In 2004 Rachael was seconded to the Australian Antarctic
Division from her job as a senior manager at Parks Victoria. In that role
Rachael was responsible for a team of over 30 staff but more importantly the
safety of millions of visitors who come to the Port
Phillip Bay region each year.
