Quark adds ePub and iPad upgrades with v9.2 update

It adds the ability to create a project specifically for export to the ePub format, and enables the integration of audio, video and hyperlinks to ePub 3 ebooks.

The updates also gives greater production control with the ability to re-order elements using drag and drop, control the resolution and format of images individually or globally, and create new articles or split text components within a reflow article.

For Asian markets, it also enables the direction of content to be reversed for East Asian titles.

The App Studio has also been upgraded with templates supporting the iOS 5 Newsstand and Apple guidelines for iCloud storage as well as additional options around multimedia playback and smaller file sizes when working with the AVE-MAG format.

The update is available from the Quark site for both Mac and PC.
