Continuing Quark’s history of supporting the Windows platform the company says QuarkXPress 7 on Windows Vista will offer users a modern, fast, feature-rich design environment.
"This important update for QuarkXPress 7 demonstrates our ongoing commitment to graphic designers and production professionals on the Windows platform,” says Terry Welty, senior vice president of Corporate Marketing at Quark.
“Customers will benefit from the combined user interface enhancements of both products such as the ability to drag and drop images from the Windows Photo Gallery directly into QuarkXPress 7. In addition, users with Windows Vista will be able to take advantage of the unique new features of QuarkXPress 7 such as picture effects and Composition Zones.”
QuarkAlliance developers are also testing their XTensions software for QuarkXPress 7 on Windows Vista.
Many are expected to follow Quark’s lead in officially announcing support for the new operating system, including Extensis, who released a Windows Vista compatible version of its popular font management solution, Suitcase, in February.
“Our testing is well underway and we’re looking forward to Quark’s release of QuarkXPress 7 for Windows Vista,” says Martin Stein, vice president of Corporate Solutions for Extensis, a QuarkAlliance partner.
“Extensis with QuarkXPress 7 on Windows Vista provides users with the robust design and production environment they’ve been seeking.”
