The relocation will bring Raleigh under the same roof as CPI, though Raleigh national sales and marketing manager Peter Friend-Ngui stressed that it would remain a separate brand with an independent sales team continuing to target specifiers, such as ad agencies, graphic designers and government departments.
“Raleigh is alive and well as an independent brand and will remain so under the current strategy. However, our warehouse and logistics have been consolidated,” he told ProPrint.
The relocation is expected to complete in mid-May, as the entire East Coast consolidation strategy heads into the final mile.
The Murrarie warehouse in Brisbane was closed in February and joined the rest of the CPI stable in the suburb of Wakerley. “Raleigh Paper in Melbourne is soon to be moving to the Group warehousing facility in Braeside,” added Friend-Ngui.
He was unclear what would happen to CPI’s NSW Office Products operation, which is also based in Chullora, though said it is not being shifted into Prospect.
It seems likely that further merger plans will look for synergies brought about by the combination of CPI, BJ Ball and Focus Paper by private equity-backed acquisition vehicle PagePack. Focus Paper also has an Office Products division, based in Girraween.
