Andy Kraushaar of Fogra says, “With the tested system, Ricoh has entered the top league in the area of single copy validation printing systems. The Fogra certification process is an intensive two-day evaluation of a wide range of printer capabilities, including substrate colour and gloss, permanence and light-fastness, fading, rub resistance and colour accuracy based on a number of stringent tests.
“This also certifies the ability of the Ricoh Pro C900 range to produce consistent colour with both short- and long-term repeatability.”
Based on ISO 12647, which sets measurable process standard criteria for different printing processes such as sheet and web offset, coldset , flexographic and digital printing, the FograCert Validation Printing System defines what validation prints must look like.
Kraushaar adds, “We are pleased to grant the Ricoh ProC900 range this Fogra VPS certification in compliance with ISO draft standard 12647-8, which specifies the criteria and tolerances for the certification of Validation Printing Systems as well as for Validation Print Creation in the field.”
