RMIT industry degree now ready

Associate Degree in Graphic Technology, is at long last a reality, and according to industry advocate Rod Spencer, enrolments are currently being accepted.

The graphic technology industry degree embraces elements of print media production from text and imaging through to production and distribution. The flexible highly innovative, future oriented programme, developed by and for the industry, aims to equip existing and aspiring business leaders and managers to thrive into the future of a rapidly changing industry and global context.

The programme integrates business technology, interpersonal and industry contextual studies. Topics are clustered around the twin themes of supply chain concepts and scenario planning to suit both small and large enterprises. It will be led by skilled industry practitioners with the appropriate educational and teaching background.

It will take three years full-time to achieve the degree, or part-time six years. Students will enrol in the Bachelor of Business [Graphic Technology], but may exit after two years full-time with an Associate Degree in Graphic Technology. At this point students will have also fulfilled the requirements of a Diploma of Business and may apply for this additional award if they wish.

The programme will be offered on the Brunswick Campus of RMIT in Melbourne subject to sufficient student numbers. It is likely that many students will wish to study part time so classes will also be offered in the evenings. A range of learning activities is included in the program to cater for different learning styles and subject matter. The degree will be offered to interstate applicants late 2004 or in 2005.

Applications will be accepted for the first semester up until May 31 2004.
