Roland DG scores wins in SGIA awards

Rick Scrimger, vice president and general manager of Roland DGA, says, “We are honoured by these awards and believe they reflect the strength of Roland VersaUV LED technology. The VersaUV platform is truly revolutionary and has been embraced by businesses for applications ranging from labels and packaging prototypes to signage, point of sale displays and even personalised gifts and electronics.”

Roland DG’s wide format VersaUV models support the new Eco-UV S ink, which expands up to 220 percent, according to the company, which adds that the extended elasticity allows prints to mold to the contours of PET bottles and plastic cups, and thermoformed plastic used for items ranging from food service trays to auto parts packaging and consumer electronics cases.

The 64-inch LEJ-640 hybrid flatbed printer prints CMYK, white and clear coat, which produces embossed and tactile effects on both flexible roll media and rigid substrates up to a half-inch thick, ranging from shrink wrap, pressure sensitive media and papers to corrugated cardboard, polycarbonate sheets and foam board.
