Roland DG shoots for the stars with SP-540V

Utilising Roland’s proprietary ‘no stink’ EcoSOL solvent inks, the new SP-540V has been designed to provide a low cost entry into the lucrative solvent based wide-format sign market.

With a 54″ print and cut capability, Roland DG says the SP-540V delivers unparalleled versatility at an affordable price, and is destined to change the way printers think about short run indoor and outdoor signage production.

Designed with easy of use in mind, the SP-540V prints on coated or uncoated media, which Roland DG says significantly reduces production costs. Added to this is Roland DG’s contour cutting technology, which allows users to cut decals in virtually any shape without a die-cutter, making the system an on-demand package that Roland DG believes will make short run screen printing redundant.

According to Marcus Adler, Roland DG Australia managing director, the new VersaCAMM SP-540V is destined to shatter all previous sales records.

“The VersaCAMM SP-540V slots neatly into the bottom end of our eco friendly, no stink solvent ink range of wide-format printers, and is priced keenly to attract new users to the market,” says Adler.

“It’s a serious machine, producing outstanding print resolutions up to 1440dpi in CMYK for both indoor and outdoor signage, banners, decals, packaging prototypes, as well as being able to print on heat transfer media – which will appeal to those involved in the lucrative garment trade.”

Featuring six print modes, the new SP-540V is twice as fast as the SP-300, printing up to 10sqm per hour and incorporating Ethernet interface, optional additional print rollers for difficult medias and a media usage function that enables printers to keep tabs on how much media being used and how much is left on the roll.

The new VersaCAMM SP-540V comes complete with Roland’s easy to use rip software and will be available from November.
