Roland says the EDP Awards are judged on innovation and recognise the best products of the year introduced in the European market.
The VersaCAMM VS-640 wide format metallic inkjet printer/cutter won the award for best wide format print and cut machine category. Roland says the VS-640 combines a new generation of print head technology and an ink circulation system with improved ink flow and circulationand features on support software, which alerts users via e-mail of low ink, print finish status and emergency stops.
The EDP best emerging technology printer award went to the Soljet Pro III XC-540MT 54″ wide format metallic inkjet printer/cutter. Roland says this printer features six colours, CMYK+Metallic Silver+White (CMYK+Mt+W), and adds that the metallic ink can be incorporated into the workflow using the included Roland VersaWorks RIP software.
Roland’s Eco-Sol Max metallic ink won the best alternative ink technology award. The company says that users can print this ink as a spot colour or combined with CMYK inks to produce a range of coloured metallic effects.
Founded in 2006, the EDP Association serves as an industry forum and resource for association members and the digital printing industry. It says that its annual awards programme is designed to acknowledge and award the latest developments in R&D in the digital printing industry.
