Sakurai revives A1 format

Charlie Scandrett, managing director of Australian supplier PressNet told Australian Printer at drupa that the 596 would prove a highly economical press, he estimates printers will save around 30 per cent of the cost of a B1 press, and be up for lower plate and blanket costs.

The Sakurai 596SD has automated ink feeding, automated ink temperature control, automated cylinder and blanket washing, and is available in up to six units plus coater.

Scandrett says, “There is now no difference between the leading brands in their engineering level, the choice of press now for printers comes down to who they want to deal with and how much they want to pay.”
