Schawk Australia has been appointed to manage Woolworths’ print and packaging division and will employ six prepress staff to work inhouse the supermarket giant’s Norwest headquarters.

The company will provide pre-press, pre-media and colour management services to Woolworths, after winning the account through a competitive tender process.

The print and packaging services provider is set to work closely with the supermarket in-house, and according to Schawk, it provides a skill-set Woolworths could previously only out-source.

Schawk operations manager Ryan Sharratt says the contract is ‘great for our clients’ and described it as ‘one of our biggest in terms of volume’.

Sharratt also says Schawk will provide Woolworths with proofing solutions inhouse, including a new Epson printer.

Schawk Australia is an advisor for production, pre-media, print services and workflows and is owned by parent company SGK.
