IPS says it selected Screen’s drop-on-demand inkjet technology as the best balance in addressing customer highspeed production requirements after an in-depth review of all inkjet technologies available, or in development.

Screen outlines that the Truepress Jet520 and InfoPrint 5000 are used in a broad variety of applications, ranging from account statements to books and newspapers, in the printing industry worldwide. As a result, since 2007, Screen and its partner, IPS, have sold and installed more than 200 continuous-feed color inkjet presses as of the end of March 2010.

Kyohei Fujisawa, Corporate Executive Officer of Dainippon Screen says, “Our strong alliance with IPS has broadened our coverage and resulted in our ability to increase investment in our unique inkjet technology. As a result, we have sold and installed more than 200 presses world-wide.”

He continues, “Our inkjet system’s success in the market demonstrates the high value customers place on our well controlled drop on- demand inkjet technology, color management, patented screening algorithms, and stable paper transportation system that deliver excellent print quality.”

Also commenting, George Promis, vice-president of InfoPrint Production Inkjet Solutions & Technology Alliances says, “The results of our decision to use Screen’s innovative inkjet technology have exceeded our expectations, as evidenced by strong customer acceptance, both by new customers and clients buying additional systems due to color volume growth.”

Screen outlines that it plans to continue to deepen its connection with IPS while using the companies’ combined technological strengths and expertise to actively pursue superior solutions for customers
