Sea change of staff at Avon Graphics

Embellishment guru Avon Graphics has added two new department managers to its Melbourne team, the appointments making part of the company’s wider business growth.

Avon co-managing director Tate Hone told ProPrint Darren Skinner will be joining the business as manager for the traditional embossing, foiling and coating department, replacing former operations manager Steve Madin.

“Darren has joined Avon Graphics with a long experience in the print industry, and I’m sure many of you have dealt with him over the years,” says Hone.

“He has now been on board for a few weeks and has hit the ground running.”

Madin, who leaves Avon after a decade-long tenure has moved into his new role as general manager at BBPrint, based in Mackay.

Also joining Avon in a newly created role is Ian Lockwood, who will serve as department manager for the company’s fresh large format division.

“Ian also has great experience in the print industry with a focus on large format printing. This is a new role in our team and Ian has already made some great changes which will benefit our customers,” adds Hone.

Avon has been growing its large format department for some time, and Lockwood’s appointment is the company’s latest move in ramping up its diversification.

The trade-only finishing and wide format business is co-managed by father and son duo Trevor and Tate Hone, with manufacturing plants in Melbourne, Sydney and Queensland.
