Managing director Robert Weihing says the extraordinary increase was due to further expansion of distribution activities in almost all regions.
“We are naturally very pleased with this development, which exceeded our optimistic expectations by far”, says Weihing.
The German-speaking countries again showed very pleasing development in 2005 and continue to be GMG’s largest single market, but numerous international markets demonstrated above-proportional growth, now accounting for almost two-thirds of total sales.
“It has become clear that we have been very successful in consistently transferring our many years of success in Germany to other countries, and that our efforts have rapidly borne fruit,” Weihing says. “We will pursue this approach steadily and continue to market the strengths of GMG technology worldwide.”
Many countries, such as the UK, Spain, France and Italy, are recording sales growth of up to 100 per cent.
Expansion of well over 100 per cent was again achieved in the US and parts of Asia.
GMG opened branches in Denmark and Japan in 2005, and is now represented by its own sales offices not only in Germany, but also in the UK, Spain, France, Benelux, Nordic, the USA, and Asia.
GMG has specialises in high-end colour management for the entire graphic arts industry and today, more than 6000 systems have been sold across the industry spectrum from ad agencies, prepress houses and offset printers to newspapers, flexo converters and international gravure printing plants.
