Andrew McKay is the new
general manager and Brendan Jamieson has taken the role of franchise business
consultant, with Helen Spencer the new franchise development manager.
The move comes just a year
after the business was purchased back from the Penfold family – who also owns the Kwik Kopy
master print franchise for Australia – by the original owner, US-based Fastsigns. Now back under the same umbrella, Signwave is part of the successful Fastsigns franchise system again for the first time in 15 years.
The 18 Australian stores
generated revenue of over $12m in the 2005/2006 financial year. In the latter half of 2007, a new Signwave store was opened, in Perth. Currently there are 11 franchisees in NSW, six in
Victoria, and one each in Qld and WA.
Susan Last, CEO of Fastsigns International says, "The primary reason for this
change is to provide the Signwave franchisees with knowledgeable individuals
that have practical, hands- on experience in the sign and graphics industry."
Signwave centres use a range of technologies and digital sign-making systems to
create a full range of custom signs and graphics. Centres offer a range of
services including design, manufacture and installation.
Utilising core
products, such as banners, corflute, PVC and self adhesive vinyl, Signwave
centres handle a wide range of signage including: vehicle graphics, tradeshow
exhibits and displays, architectural signs, braille and tactile signs, safety
signs and full colour digital imaging.
Last says, "Andrew, Brendan and Helen bring extensive sign and graphics
experience to Signwave and will offer our franchisees fresh ideas and concepts
on how to run their business. Andrew and Brendan have owned their own sign
businesses, and all three have worked in the Australian sign industry for quite
some time. Their knowledge of the industry will help build awareness of
Signwave and increase our presence throughout the country."
McKay says, "I see an opportunity to
build and grow a national sign network from an established and reputable base. By
harnessing collective efforts and skills from the new management team and
working alongside our franchisees, my objective is to build a unified network
under one brand that can service Australia on a truly national basis."
