Simon Wheeler will return to his native UK after spending more than four years as head of Océ Australia and Canon Professional Print.
Canon said Wheeler had decided to leave Australia for family reasons and had accepted a position as director of photo production printing in Canon’s European headquarters.
Wheeler served as Océ Australia managing director from 2009-12 and was then appointed director of Canon Professional Print at the start of 2013.
He will be replaced by Mike Boyle, who will assume the role of senior general manager in January.

“Mike worked for Océ Australia since 1995, most recently as business unit director [of] wide-format printing systems, before relocating to Océ’s European headquarters in the Netherlands in 2010 to assume the role as international marketing director.
Boyle acknowledged the role Wheeler has played in the integration of Océ and Canon.
“Simon has led the business through a challenging period of integration while setting us on path to towards achieving our goal of bringing us closer to our customers,” said Boyle.
“With this foundation in place, I am committed to realising this vision and making Canon the partner of choice for the future.”
