Canon Australia delivers on success promise

The Canon Australia Group, which is comprised of its operations in Australia and New Zealand, posted sales revenues of $407.3milion, an increase of 5.4 per cent over the same period in 2002, and a record first half. In addition, the Group announced second quarter sales of AU$223.7 million, representing a year-on-year increase of six per cent for the second quarter and the Group’s best-ever quarterly result.

According to Shuichi Tsukahara, Canon Australia managing director, the results reflect the acceptance and embracing of the company’s digital imaging products and integrated business solutions.

“Our first half has been defined by the continuing spectacular growth of digital photography and significant success in business imaging. We are fully on track to meet our core strategic goal of achieving number one position in key product categories,” says Tsukahara.

“Canon Australia’s business imaging solutions group also recorded an excellent performance. In line with the company’s strategy of targeting the increasing need for business colour devices, the release of the imageRUNNER iR C3200 proved very significant, and this intelligent multi-function product is exceeding the high expectations which were set for it.”
