Simplicity and efficiency lead Currie Group’s Horizon By Appointment event

Currie Group recently hosted its Horizon By Appointment event in Melbourne, at its Demonstration Centre on 6 to 8 December, with simplicity and efficiency as its key messaging for the event.

There were three 90-minute private sessions per day, over the three days, where attendees got the chance to experience the best in finishing, with the following machines demonstrated:

  • Horizon BQ-270V Perfect Binder
  • Horizon HT-300 iCE Three-side Trimmer
  • Horizon SPF-200L Booklet-making System
  • Horizon RD-N4055 Rotary Die-cut System
  • Horizon CRF-362 Creaser Folder
  • Horizon APC-610 Hydraulic Paper Cutter

“The clients that attended experienced presentations based on less touch points and automation in the finished product, and our Horizon machines deliver just that,” Currie Group Victorian account manager Vince Pignataro said.

“Showing these machines at our Demonstration Centre gave attendees the opportunity to not only understand the features of each machine but also see for themselves how automated these machines are, the quality that they produce and how simple they are to operate with minimal touch points.

“A lot of our equipment are in-line with other devices, and attendees could see the different options that best suited their needs as it’s not a one-size-fits-all approach for small and medium-sized businesses. So, the attendees walked away very impressed with our showcase.”

Currie Group product category manager – finishing Will Currie said the success of this Horizon By Appointment event in Melbourne comes off the back of a similar trial it ran during COVID lockdowns in NSW.

“I visited Japan, just prior to when COVID hit, on Horizon’s smart factory tour. It was a collaborative effort between multiple companies to create automation for the industry. I took back what I could that was relevant to our local market and replicated that on a smaller scale, which resulted in the Horizon By Appointment trial in NSW,” he said.

“It offered customers the ability to dip their toes into automation, with the desired result becoming as automated as they can possibly be. Simplicity and efficiency are the messages that we’re now bringing to market.”

The event in Melbourne was successfully booked out days before, Currie mentioned.

“People booked out the slots quickly and it only shows that businesses are out there researching equipment to speed up their processes,” Currie said.

“We opened up selected sessions as we wanted to focus on the quality of customers instead of quantity and give them the opportunity to see machines that suit current world climates.

“It also allowed for a more intimate 1:1 environment with technical professionals and a more personalised experience as they could see the machines in operation after being adjusted to different configurations. We were able to demonstrate exactly what they wanted to see.”
