Small regional NSW print broker triples in size with World Rally contract

It is the first time the rally is being held in Coffs Harbour, where Axis is based, and is expected to bring 20,000 unique visitors to the coastal town. It is estimated that tens of millions of viewers will watch the rally worldwide.

The six-staff print manager, which services clients in both the region and major East Coast cities, has jumped into the driving seat as print sponsor of the event.

Director Peter Williams told ProPrint that he has been working 14-hour days for the past month to manage printing and installation of seven kilometres of chequered flag binding as well as thousands of point-of-sale, promotional and large-format printing items.

“We are set to triple our monthly revenue, which is a great boost for us,” he said.

“Through this increase in work our business is receiving a much wider recognition in town and it has opened up a lot of connections for us. Hopefully the flow-on effect will increase business even further into the future.”

The rally will be Coffs Harbour’s largest single event and Williams said the printing work could have only been coordinated by a local business.

“If an outsider came in to do this, it would have been an abject failure,” he said.

“In a place like Coffs you really have to know where to go, and we take a direct approach with our customers.

“If we put on a well organised rally where the visitors and the teams are well-welcomed then the controlling body will bring it back to Coffs next year, which will be fantastic for our community,” added Williams.
