Snap success leads to Danka deal

As a result of Riso’s success at the franchise, Snap Corporate has reached an agreement with Danka Australia to endorse the Risograph RP 3700 High Speed Digital Network Printing Systems to all interested Snap franchises across Australia.

The Riso is capable of printing at 120 copies per minute on a wide variety of stock, from traditional A4 and A3 paper, to heavy card, NCR paper, manilla folders and even paper bags.

Brian Thompson, franchise owner, says he is very happy with his new addition. “I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent quality of print the Riso was able to produce. It’s ideal for short run spot colour jobs.”

Thompson believes a significant advantage of his Riso is its ease of use. “Anyone can operate the unit. At present we have four to five people that can operate the machine.”

Thompson says the high quality of print and the ability to use colour enables the Riso to bridge the gap between offset and photocopier. The RP3700’s ability to print jobs in single and spot colour is a huge advantage.

Now Snap can offer services they previously could not do with a photocopier or were too time consuming with offset.

Alan Francis, Snap Printing production manager, says, “Using the RP3700 frees up our presses for longer print runs” states. “It works very well for quick turn around jobs.”

Snap has also utilised the RP3700’s ability to interface with both PC and Mac. By doing this, the operator can immediately send jobs from their computer to the machine.

“60 per cent of the work done on our Riso is sent direct from the computer. The Risograph does a great job on short run booklets with photographs and graphics direct from the computer, ” says Francis.
