Soft proofing on the rise in Australia says Cavenagh

According to DES, the Virtual Proof Station helps printers take advantage of the opportunity to reduce costs by shortening the production cycle and establishing better, more accurate colour communications between everyone involved in colour decisions.

Cavenagh says the new self contained viewing area includes everything you need to create an ISO 3664:2000 compliant soft proofing area – anywhere in a facility.

He says, “Soft proofing is still in its infancy, the important aspect of the Virtual Proof Station is that with the computer controls you will get an accurate reproduction of the proof, which ultimately means better prints and repeatable results.”

The proof station includes luminance level control, optical diffusion screen and light sensors, which adjust luminance level enabling standardized lighting to ISO 3664:2000.
