Spicers lets further 5% of staff go

The job losses have mainly come from the logistics area, and represent about 5 per cent of the company’s total workforce in Australia.

Rohan Dean, head of Emerging Markets at parent company PaperlinX says, “Sadly changing volumes means that we have to recalibrate our staffing levels, as we, like everyone, need to keep a tight handle on costs.”

* In a separate development Andrew Preece has succeeded Chris Creighton as executive general manager for ANZA (Australia, New Zealand and Asia) for the company, but will continue with his role as general manager of Spicers Australia.
