STI Lilyfield makes strategic appointments as part of change mission

Mark Wilton, Jacob Galea and Franca Balsamo have all joined the Padstow, Sydney-based company, which is owned by German corporation STI Group.

Wilton has taken the role of digital solution specialist. He brings extensive experience in pre-press, digital and workflow automation from stints at Kodak and Creo and his position on the board of CIP4 (the International Cooperation for the Integration of the Processes in Prepress, Press and Postpress working group).

Galea has been appointed as national sales manager, commercial. The consultant and public speaker used to work with Trickey at IPMG-owned web offset firm Hannanprint.

Balsamo is well known across the industry as a life member of the Junior Printing Executives of NSW group, and has worked at BJ Ball, CPI Group, Ricoh and Canon. She is now a pre-press and digital workflow analyst at STI Lilyfield.

Trickey told ProPrint: “We are pleased about the effective implementation of our strategy, which clearly includes the recruitment of highly skilled colleagues.

“We are building our capabilities around commercial print and POS as a solution provider to our customers in the Australian market and in addition, we will be soon coming up with even more competitive and innovative services for the Australian market.”

Trickey landed the job of managing director of STI Lilyfield earlier this year after 13 years at Hannanprint, most recently as general manager of operations.

He is tasked with driving change at STI Lilyfield, which posted less-than favourable results for the 2011 calendar year.

At the time of his appointment, Trickey said promised to “turn [the] business around and give it a new breath of life and a different mindset”.

STI Lilyfield was established when STI Group acquired Sydney business Lilyfield Printing in 2009, and grew rapidly when it bought the assets of collapsed print group Pettaras Press in 2010.
