The Australian peak body’s national communication and technical services manager, Joe Kowalewski, said Printing Industries will also be offering tour group packages to the event, with details to be made available in the coming weeks.
Ipex organisers said the Knowledge Centre initiative has driven an influx of not-for-profit organisations signing up for floor space.
Trevor Crawford, event director for Ipex organiser IIR Exhibition, said: “The reaction to the Knowledge Centre has been extremely positive and we’re delighted with the calibre of names that have signed up to exhibit.”
“Nowhere else can you as easily investigate and compare, review and analyse business issues to gain that all important competitive edge,” he added.
Other trade bodies already confirmed on the floor plan include the Asian Flexographic Technical Association, the Forest Stewardship Counsel (FSC) and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC), as well as a series of North American and European bodies.
The centre will feature a seminar theatre where participating organisations can book presentation slots and hold free information sessions.
Meanwhile, IIR Exhibitions and the International Cooperation for the Integration of the Processes in Prepress, Press and Postpress (CIP4) have announced that they will be running a Print Automation Pavilion at the show.
The Pavilion will feature up to 20 exhibitors showcasing print automation technologies.
CIP4 executive director James Harvey said: “For many printers, cost savings and increased productivity are still on the top of the priority list, and many printers I’ve spoken with have said that print automation is one of the few areas of investment that will provide the benefits they want in the short timeframes [that] management is demanding.
“I expect that print automation will be one of the biggest priorities for Ipex attendees and I think these programs will help attendees find, learn about and come to understand the latest in print automation technologies,” added Harvey.
Ipex 2010 will take place from 18-25 May at the NEC in Birmingham.
