Cactus Imaging business development manager Sunny Cabrera has just celebrated his 25-year anniversary with the company.
Cabrera started his journey at Cactus Imaging in March 2000, after being referred to the business by a friend’s brother, who had been working at Cactus Imaging at that time and was looking for some staff.
He started in production as a finisher, then went on to become finishing lead. He then progressed on to the print floor and became print leader.
After about 10 years in production, he said he thought to try his luck in sales – he first took on a client services role, which he held on to for a few years. He then moved into the sales team, where he has been ever since.
“Having worked at Cactus Imaging for 25 years means everything to me. I’ve been lucky enough to work along Keith and Nigel for literally more than half my life,” Cabrera said.
“I’ve always wanted a boss that I could look up to and not one that I had to begrudgingly work for – and that’s why I have been at Cactus Imaging for this long. My brother also works with us in production, and he has been here for more than 10 years. That is another reason I enjoy coming here every day.
“I see a lot of growth in this business – we are always developing and finding new ways to get in front of the opposition, which is exciting. I’ve developed some good relationships with my clients, and I look forward to continuing that for many years to come.”
Cactus Imaging co-founder and general manager of operations Keith Ferrel fondly remembers hiring Cabrera.
“Sunny started in production and there wasn’t a printer he couldn’t operate. There wasn’t a finished machine he couldn’t operate. He was always dedicated and learnt on the job. As he got more experienced, he wanted to try out sales, and has been extremely successful,” Ferrel said.
“He is a great guy to have around. I’ve seen him go from a single man to a married man, and now one with a young family. He has taken advantage of every opportunity he has been given.
“He has contributed widely to the business. We are honoured to celebrate him and what he has bought to the Cactus family – knowledge, charisma, his love for the mighty Tigers, and his hard-working nature. Congratulations doesn’t seem to be enough. We thank him for all that he brings each day and may there be 25 more years to come.”
