Sydney printer picks up HP excellence award

The competition recognises print excellence in 21 categories across Commercial Print, Sign and Display, and Labels and Packaging applications. Submissions were open to users of HP Indigo, Inkjet Web Press, Scitex and Designjet systems. The competition attracted entries from 364 customers from 47 countries.

Next Printing in Sydney, the first company to install an HP Scitex FB7500 in NSW, won in the Retail POP/POS category.

The company claims the Scitex FB7500 digital screen printer is ideal for printing medium and long runs of POP/ POS applications with tight schedules and in high paced, demanding environments. Next Printing adds its Scitex delivers throughput up to 500sqm/hour, with the ability to print on a broad range of media including Foam PVC, Foamboard, Corrugated Carboard, SAV, Paper, Synthetic Paper and others.

Sophie Matthews-Paul, one of the judges for the awards says, “The HP Print Excellent Awards concentrate on innovation. However, they also look at environmentally responsible printing.

“We considered how entrants demonstrated creativity and skill. Seeing how the criteria were interpreted in the submissions from different parts of the world was very interesting.”

Awards were categorised by device category and by application type. The judges said that after lengthy discussions, the decisions on all winners were unanimous.

Also commenting, Andrew Ng, marketing manager, graphic solutions business, HP Asia Pacific and Japan says, service providers across Asia Pacific clinched a total of 18 awards this year, of which 7 are first place awards, which reflects the increasing creativity and quality emerging from the region.”

He says, “Receiving so many submissions across the various categories not only demonstrates the spread of digital printing globally, but also service providers’ confidence in our technologies and innovations to deliver a wide range of applications to their customers.”
