TAFE NSW offers fee-free print and signage courses

TAFE NSW is now offering several study fee-free courses for 2023, which includes nine Graphic Design courses, eight Print Design courses, as well as the Sign and Graphics Certificate III.

A total of 33 design and media courses are being offered.

Fee-free TAFE is a joint initiative of the Australian and New South Wales Governments, providing tuition-free training places for people wanting to train, retrain or upskill.

It is available for people who enrol after 1 December 2022 and commence their course between 1 January 2023 and 31 December 2023.

To be eligible, applicants (at the time of enrolment) must live or work in NSW, be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent Australian resident or a humanitarian visa holder, and be aged 15 years or over, and not enrolled at any school.

Semester 1 classes commence from 6 February.

As for the Certificate III Sign and Graphics course, applicants must hold a valid general construction induction card (commonly known as a white card) and be employed as an apprentice in the signs and graphics industry as evidenced by a letter of support from an employer.

They will also need to submit a Training Plan Proposal with their application.

This course is usually offered as an apprenticeship, but may also be offered as a non-apprenticeship.

“TAFE NSW will provide more than 300 qualifications from certificates to diplomas that align to the state’s priority industry growth sectors, free of tuition fees for eligible students,” TAFE NSW said.
