Taopix appoints Eliot Harper as Australian partner

Eliot Harper, director at Eliot & Company says, “I am delighted that Taopix has appointed Eliot & Company as a distributor. With a $389m revenue opportunity in the US alone last year, the photo gifting and merchandise market opens up a new world of revenue streams.”

He continues, “Eliot & Company is well placed to help Australian print providers capitalise on this opportunity and has put in place a team to provide our customers with round-the-clock dedicated advice and support, pre and post installation.”

Recognising the need for a total solution, Harper says he has expanded his business support to include services for creating highly customized photobook websites for his clients.

One such client is Collingwood print group, incorporating 3 large print facilities in Melbourne, who recently launched photobooksRus.com.au.

Martin Lindley a director of Photo Books R us says, “Our foray into the photo gifting market is a progressive step for our company. We are confident that our early adoption of the Taopix solution, will help us become one of the front runners in providing photo gifting products to the Australian consumer.”

According to Harper, Taopix version 2.5 which was announced worldwide this week incorporates a host of new features and functionality that will greatly enhance the current solution.

The new features include:

  • Four Wizard Genie options to suit the level of experience and interaction required,
  • Improved calendar module to simplify building calendars,
  • Interactive assistant for first time users,
  • A proof-book function which automatically generates a sample photo book, and many more.

Taopix is also launching a Starter Kit which will include dozens of book, calendar, gift and website templates as well as access to more than 500 backgrounds, frames, scrapbook items and masks.  The Starter Kit will be available next month.

According to Harper, photo gifting is only in its infancy in Australia. He says, “The markets in Europe and the US have exploded in recent years and there is no reason why Australia won’t follow suit.  It’s those that get in early, that will reap the most benefits.”
