The Lamson Group’s CEO Rodney Frost is hosting the second annual 24-hour fundraising initiative, One Day.
On Tuesday 22 October, Frost, along with 51 others, will play golf for 24 hours straight at the Castle Hill Country Club to raise funds for cancer research.
“Last year, our family lost three loved ones, including my sister-in-law, to cancer which led me to create a 24-hour golf event called One Day,” said Frost.
“During One Day we spend 24 hours straight playing golf to honour those that we have all lost to this horrible disease and to feel a smidgen of the pain that those currently with cancer and their families are feeling. For a single 24 hour day, we strike together to fund research to cure cancer. We proudly pass on 100 per cent of every donation received to scientific research.
“We play through the night with lit up courses via daymakers and glow sticks along with glow in the dark balls.”
This year, Frost said he is devoting the organisation’s efforts to Tom Lusch and Gordon Anthonisz, who both passed away earlier this year.
Last year’s inaugural One Day event raised $104,379 with every cent going directly to cancer research via charity organisation, Love Your Sister.
In addition to the event, Frost is also hosting a fundraising dinner at Concord Golf Club on the Thursday 31 October. To book tickets, click here.
