Organisers say more than 7,500 visitors will pass through the doors of the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre to see the latest technology available to the industry, alongside live demonstrations and a number of seminars keynoted by industry experts.
Peter Harper, general manager Visual Industries Suppliers Association and organiser for the event told Australian Printer the show hit the ground running with a strong visitor turnout. He says every aspect of the signage industry is being represented on the exhibitor stands.
He says, “On the print side, there has been some exciting stuff so far with a number of companies releasing new machines to the Australian wide format market.
“The combined shows is proving an effective strategy for both visitor and exhibitors. Visitors are able to see everything under one roof and because exhibitors are showcasing their products at fewer events, they are able to spend more money on their stands and displays.”
Among the new machines making their Australian debut at the show was the Océ Arizona 550 GT, which the company says is ideal for the point of purchase market as well as any printer looking to make the move into digital.
On the Roland DG stand, visitors got their first glimpse of the new VersaCam VS series, which was launched under the theme “the world is metallic.”
Meanwhile, Fufifilm launched the UV Star, its new roll to roll UV machine, which enables the use of recycled substrates that give the user both cost and environmental benefits, according to the company.
HP is building the suspense at its stand, with a concealed display counting down the minutes and hours to the launch of its new high speed wide format machine, which is set to be revealed sometime this morning.
Encouraging industry representatives to attend during the remaining two days of the event, Harper says the high quality displays at the show won’t be accessible again anywhere in Australia this year.
He says, “We decided to hold the event during the beginning of the week in order to make it easier for people to attend. If they are serious about the sign and display industry, they should be here this week.”
