Top dozen new products from Bobst

The company is now split into three clear divisions, folding carton, flexible materials and corrugated board. Folding carton now comprises products from Bobst, Asitrade, Champlain, Apollo and Steur. Flexible materials now has the former Metso companies including Atlas, Titan and Schiavi, as well as General, Rotomec and Midi. Corrugated board has Bobst, Asitrade, Martin and Rapidex.

New in folding carton is the Fuego folder gluer, which the company says is the best value product of its kind in the market, and which handles any board from solid to E-flute. A second new folder gluer is the Mistral, a mid range system three years in development.

Four new diecutters were launched, three 106cm versions, one a 145cm. The Speria 106 and 106E systems are aimed at reducing costs through efficiencies, and cut solid board and paper as well as corrugated board and plastic materials. The Spanthera 106 LE integrates smashing lateral register, a platen cam system, and precise tool positioning. Bobst claims the highly automated system guarantees the highest quality in diecutting.

The Spintera 145 is designed for large format presses, and has a new working principal, which Bobst calls Power Plus, and which the company says enables maximum productivity through optimum integration with the materials, tools and information flow.

Bobst folding carton has also launched the Speria Foilmaster 102 Hot Foil stamping press, which it says will enable companies to run foils and holograms that up to now would be impossible.

Finally Bobst folding carton launched a new Champlian Riviera heliogravure printing unit, which it says integrates the whole system, and it launched the Champlain Qualifier, for accurate blank production.

Bobst flexible materials had a quintet of new solutions on the stand. First up is the Titan SR8 slitter rewinder, the latest in the Titan range of twin shaft cantilevered slitter rewinders, and which can handle a wide range of flexible materials. The new Titan RB600 reel packaging system is an automated slit reel bagging system, which integrates with a range of customised automatic roll handling for converters.

A trio of new solutions were launched under the Schiavi brand, including the new CL 660 Unica a multi purpose coater laminator, the EF 4040 flexo printing deck, which enables the original machine to be modified, and the 1010 downstream flexo unit for added value applications such as coating or lacquering.
