Visual Impact sees 26 per cent rise in visitors

The bi-annual Visual Impact Brisbane expo came to a close over the weekend, with visitor numbers up by a quarter over the same show two years ago. General manager of Visual Connections and organiser Peter Harper says the general feedback he has received since show wrapped has been overwhelmingly positive. “We had 26 per cent more attendees compared to the 2014 show and from what we can see those 26 per cent were mainly printing companies, we attribute this to having stands from Currie Group, DES and Canon,” he says.

Harper reports a majority of the stands had healthy sales, “Some sold three quarters of their stand, some sold out their whole stand. No one gave any negatives about sales, even the newer companies which I spoke to were happy as well.” Harper admits he was concerned that new addition Currie Group – which has not entered the signage market- would feel disconnected from the rest of the show. However, Currie Group managing director Bernie Robinson told Australian Printer he was surprised by the amount of people who walked onto the mobile showroom and browsed its products. “It seems to be a versatile show for Currie, so we are happy with it,” Robinson says. “It is obviously smaller in size, there is no doubt about that, but I think the quality of people has been better than other shows we have been to recently and it’s a nice venue too.” For other exhibitors such as Ricky Richards, the Brisbane expo presented itself as an opportunity to socialise and network. Ricky Richards product manager Matt Evans says, “It has been a good experience and a good opportunity to catch up with the whole Ricky Richards team, it is the first time we have been together for a while. It’s a team bonding experience and it’s good to see lots of old friends and make new ones as well.” Visual Impact’s next stop is Sydney from September 15 to 17, the show will be held in Olympic Park.
