The Visual Media Association (VMA) has issued invitations across the national industry association landscape, calling for collaboration and exploration of common initiatives that can be developed as one.
The Australian Paper, Print, and Signage Industry Association Summit, scheduled for April, in the VMA head office in Melbourne will be the first in many years to bring the associations together in a formal setting. The VMA is seeking to build a stronger collective voice, share insights, and develop collaborative initiatives that drive improved deliverables for members and industry.
“With so many important initiatives being worked on across our industry, this summit provides an opportunity to align our efforts, discuss challenges, and develop common strategies in a more formal setting,” Kellie Northwood, CEO, Visual Media Association, said.
“We all work together today, Visual Connections and VMA unite to bring PacPrint to the industry, we all support Women in Print and more, that said, the opportunity to build a framework of more or improved activities we can develop for our broader industry cannot be a bad thing.
“We know that by working together, we can achieve more—whether it be in skills and training, government advocacy, industry standards, sustainability or networking events.”
An initial focus of the April meeting will be developing a working document to represent the industry in the pending federal election briefings.
It is believed an initial document the ‘Australian Print Industry Election Briefing Paper’, drafted by the VMA is being shared for amendment. The VMA is inviting industry bodies across Australia to contribute their perspectives to ensure a unified and impactful message is delivered to all political parties.
“The federal election presents an opportunity for our industry, and we can seize this window to present a coordinated advocacy agenda,” Northwood said.
“We encourage all associations to share their input, ensuring the issues that matter most to our members are heard loud and clear.”
The summit will also explore practical and strategic opportunities, such as developing a common industry activity calendar, enhancing industry metrics, and fostering collaboration on lobbying efforts.
“We see the meeting as the first of many opportunities to come together and strengthen our collective impact. This is not just about discussion; it’s about action and ensuring that we are future proofing our industry in a rapidly changing landscape.”
Invitations have been issued to the Australian Paper Industry Association, Australian Sign and Graphics Association, Country Press Association, FESPA, FPLMA, LIA, Women in Print, and Visual Connections.
