At about 1.15am on Sunday August 14 this year emergency services attended a fire at Dynamic Print in Strickland Street, Bunbury which resulted in $2m damage bill. Subsequent inquiries have established that the fire was deliberately lit and police are pursuing several lines of inquiry.
Information is sought from members of the public to identify the drivers and/or owners of three vehicles seen in the area around the time of the fire.
CCTV footage has been obtained which shows two vehicles in the car park of an adjacent business, located directly behind Dynamic Print. The vehicles were in the car park just prior to 8.00pm on the Saturday evening prior to the fire, then later at about 12.20am.
The third vehicle of interest is a light-coloured utility with a flat tray back that was observed to drive past the burning premises on Strickland Street three times within one minute, shortly before emergency services arrived at the fire at around 1.15am.
Further assistance is sought to identify a man who is believed to have been window-shopping at a motorcycle shop adjacent to the Dynamic Print premises at around 8.00pm on the Saturday night prior to the fire. The man spoke to a woman employed by Dynamic Print the following Monday or Tuesday at the Australind Shopping Centre and provided her with information regarding someone he saw outside Dynamic Print several hours prior to the fire.
Detectives urge the male person to contact police to provide assistance regarding this matter.
