Westman Printing purchases Reacon with restructure planned

Sydney-based Westman Printing has purchased Reacon Group – the parent company of two businesses currently in voluntary administration – Reacon Australia and MMW3 Degrees.

Westman Printing – a company with 45 years of print manufacturing history – has been owned by Vik Gulati and his wife Manasa for the last 20 years.

Westman has a strong understanding of the Reacon business as it has been a supplier of services to the companies under administration for several years.

Gulati said he has purchased the parent company with a view to restructuring the two businesses currently in voluntary administration that specialise as an omni-channel provider of mailing, marketing, and print services.

Gulati has confirmed he intends to retain the majority of the workforce of Reacon Australia and MMW3 Degrees under its leadership, with operations continuing on a “business as usual” basis during the voluntary administration process.

“Our plan is to bring everything into Reacon Australia as currently it’s a bit of mess and it will take time. We plan to propose a Deed of Company Arrangement to the administrators to clean up any legacy issues.

“I have a plan for each customer and supplier to stabilise the operations. Harry Singh is the current head of sales and I believe we will make a good team. We would like to thank the loyal customers during this stressful period.

“Westman has been a supplier to Reacon for a number of years. An opportunity came to acquire Reacon and my wife, Manasa, said we should do this as the company has great customers and great people – a foundation for any business.

“My wife along with our long-standing management team runs Westman like a Swiss clock which has allowed me to work with Harry and the CEO of Reacon to build a quick and trusting relationship. I was lucky enough to assemble a team to assist with the acquisition. I would like to thank Sudesh Gupta from Tax Wealth Accountants, Lynda Reid of Mills Oakley, and Rahul Goyal of Cor Cordis for dropping everything and getting across this and working with the administrators. I would also like to acknowledge Jahangir Khan of Reacon for building such a good business and I’m hoping to continue what he started. We wish him all the best in all his future endeavours.”

Gulati says the move, once completed, will bolster Westman’s portfolio, integrating Reacon’s advanced equipment – including the Fujifilm 1160CF acquired in 2024 – along with skilled talent and access to new markets.

“Building on Reacon’s established reputation in omni-channel marketing, this acquisition enhances Westman’s ability to deliver a whole-suite offering, from print manufacturing to integrated services.

“This is a transformative step for Westman,” Gulati said.

“We’re not just saving jobs – we’re keeping invaluable skills and knowledge alive in an industry where talent is shrinking. At Westman, we treat our team like family and growing that family while stabilising Reacon’s potential is a win for everyone. This positions us to leverage their infrastructure and services to become a leader in print and beyond.”
