Westminster living up to neighbours expectations

The company is located at Paddington in Brisbane’s inner north in a predominantly residential precinct.

Michael Collins, managing director of Westminster Printing said this created high environmental management expectations not only among staff, suppliers and customers, but with residential neighbours as well.

The solution to meet all of the expectations was to undertake Printing Industries’ Sustainable Green Print (SGP) certification programme which the company recently completed and was successfully audited to Level 2 on.

Collins says, “Having an environmental management system that is independently audited each year will help us keep focused on our responsibilities.

“We now have a platform from which we can begin to work towards SGP Level 3 and alignment with the international standard.”

Westminster Printing is one of several Queensland printing businesses working towards the fully ISO14001-aligned SGP Level 3.

Collins adds, “Since beginning the SGP programme, Westminster Printing has been able to halve the number of collections of landfill-directed waste thereby improving its environmental performance and reducing a significant cost stream.”
