Women in Print SA welcomes new patrons

Support group for the collaboration of women in the printing industry, Women in Print has appointed two new local patrons for its South Australia branch.

Long-time Women in Print supporters Marisa Rossi from BJ Ball, and Sandy Aspinall from Bowden Group, will be taking the torch from Media Super’s Dorothy Staruchowicz, who is unable to continue in the role due to work commitments.

NSW Women in Print patron Karen Goldsmith says both women answered the call after feeling the social culture in the SA industry had diminished after the Printing Industries Craftsmanship Awards were shut down in the state three years ago.

“Rossi works with BJ Ball as a sales executive and loves that BJ Ball is much more than just paper. She is passionate about seeing the great results that South Australia’s talented designers and printers produce with BJ Ball’s products,” she says.

“Aspinall started her industry career in the classified ads section of the Adelaide News before progressing into production/studio management roles within various advertising agencies until moving into printing, starting with Custom Press as prepress manager and then roles at Hyde Park Press, Copycat Printing and Document Services.

Goldsmith continues, “She has recently started with Bowden Group as account manager/business development.”

Goldsmith says their positions will be effective immediately and the women will help drive audience growth for Adelaide events and customise the market in the region.

She adds, “The Women in Print team looks forward to working with Rossi and Aspinall in 2017.”

The next Women in Print event will be taking place at PacPrint 2017 held in Melbourne in May.
