Worldwide Online Printing to plant 10,000 trees

Green fingers are twitching at Worldwide Online Printing, which has pledged to celebrate Planet Ark’s National Tree Day by planting 10,000 native trees.

The first 500 will be planted by Worldwide franchise support staff on Tree Day itself (Sunday, July 27) – and then one new tree will be added to the Worldwide Forest whenever a customer of any of the group’s 88 print and design centres places a print order on Worldwide Green paper.

CEO Mark Manderson (pictured below) said: “National Tree Day makes a huge contribution to reminding us how important it is to think about the environment, and this year we’re delighted to throw our weight behind the project
by encouraging our 15,000 business customers to think Green.”

Called ‘Switch to Worldwide Green and Plant a Tree’, the crusade is promoted by in-store posters and promotional badges – and by education packs which spell out the importance of printing on recycled paper made from 100% post-consumer waste.

According to Worldwide, one tonne of their recycled paper or cardboard saves 17 trees, 1,700 litres of oil, 4000 kilowatts of electricity, 4 cubic metres of landfill space and 31,780 litres of water.click to view full size imageclick to view full size image
