Worldwide recognition for ECU’s designers

This is the first year that Worldwide Online Printing has been involved in sponsoring the graduating ECU graphic design class. Ron Woodbine, national trainer for Worldwide, who presented student excellence awards at their recent exhibition opening, says he was impressed with the high standard of design shown by 2008 students.

Woodbine says, “We really value great design and believe that industry should be looking here for the future of design. This group of students really understand typography; it’s refreshing to see this level of comprehension in these latest ECU graduates.”

The top achievers in graphic design over the three year course were rewarded with book vouchers and certificates from Worldwide. The winners were:

  • Carl Mobilia – Worldwide Online Printing Top Student Award
  • Bill Micevski – Worldwide Online Printing Rising Star Award
  • Jadwiga Daley-Thompson – Worldwide Online Printing Developing Designer Award

Adam Newcombe, graphic design course coordinator at ECU says, “It’s the first time we’ve gone with Worldwide for our printing and we’re very happy with the results. The course is all about educating young designers within the corporate body, and I think it’s just a fabulous way for industry to engage with what we do.”
