Xaar to launch new printhead into Asia

David Frew, Printhead product manager at Xaar says, “Sino Pack is one of the leading shows in the Asian packaging industry’s calendar and is an excellent opportunity for Xaar to introduce its new high-speed printhead to this market. Our original XJ128 printhead set the industry standard in terms of performance and print quality in the Chinese market and we are looking forward to the new XJ128/200 Plus building on this success.”

Frew continues, “With the launch of the new XJ128/200 Plus, we have made a significant technology breakthrough, achieving a much higher performance with a 30 per cent increase in speed, without compromising features such as size, weight and robustness that made the original XJ128 so successful.

The XJ128/200 Plus version has a linear printing speed of 689 mm/second (5.5KHz), offering even greater flexibility for customers who require a high frequency head for quality reproduction. In addition to enabling printer manufacturers to develop a new and more productive generation of products, the XJ128/200 Plus might also be used in an upgrade package for some existing printer models.”

Also on display at the Xaar stand will be the XJ500. This printhead has a 70mm wide print swathe comprising 500 individual print nozzles, its size making it ideal for packaging print applications. “The XJ500 has been widely used to achieve high quality printing across a number of market sectors, with considerable success in the POD carton printing sector due to its versatility,” says Mr Frew.

“There is a growing requirement in the packaging industry to print directly on an ever-increasing diverse range of non-cardboard substrates. As a non-contact printing process that can jet a variety of ink types, inkjet is in a prime position to take advantage of this industry demand. Print flexibility both in terms of substrate and variable data is the key to the future in this industry, and inkjet technology, such as Xaar’s new printheads, is meeting these demands head on.”

Representatives from Xaar’s Chinese offices will be on hand at the exhibition to discuss all the benefits of Xaar’s leading technology with existing and prospective customers.
