Zünd Australia to host grand opening with special guest

Zünd Australia has confirmed an official grand opening event on Thursday 13 March with a special overseas guest.

Zünd Australia managing director Dale Hawkins told Sprinter the event will be the official opening of Zünd Australia’s premises in Melbourne, located at Unit 4, 136 Keys Road, Cheltenham.

To mark the occasion Zünd owner and CEO Oliver Zünd will travel to Australia to officially open the local subsidiary’s premises.

“We are looking forward to opening the doors to our customers and having Zünd owner and CEO Oliver Zünd visit our new location in Australia so he can meet staff from within the new subsidiary as well as our valued customers,” Hawkins said.

The showroom features two operating machines – one G3 L-2500 model with cradle feeder and the S3 M-1200 model with an extension table

Zünd started operations and moved into the new Cheltenham premises in September 2024. Since then, the business has been setting up its new purpose-built showroom, with new Zünd machines and technology.

The showroom features two operating machines – one G3 L-2500 model with cradle feeder and the S3 M-1200 model with an extension table. The showroom is available for customers to experience in-house demonstrations and user training and the building includes the offices for Zünd Australia.

“At the grand opening, we will have live demonstrations of Zünd cutters, and we will also be showcasing the multitude of applications, tools and consumables available for our machines,” Hawkins said.

Zünd has also organised an after-party following the grand opening.

“We will be hosting an after party in the tap room at 2 Brothers Brewery, around the corner from the new premises for those that want to kick on afterwards,” Hawkins said.

Zünd Australia is a wholly owned subsidiary of Zünd Switzerland and commenced business in March 2024 with Hawkins at the helm of the organisation.

The decision to create a dedicated subsidiary was made after the previous reseller went into voluntary administration .

“The Zünd Australia team includes some of the best technical people in the digital cutting, application, and system automation,” Hawkins said.

Since its launch, Zünd Australia has provided existing customers with additional accessories and consumables and installed several new Zünd digital cutters including Sydney-based Blueprint Digital, which purchased a Zünd G3 3XL-3200.

IVE Brand Activations also recently installed new Zünd D3 3XL-3200 and BHS150 at its production facility at Braeside in Melbourne. IVE already operates three G3 Zünd digital flatbed cutters in Melbourne and one new G3 model at its facility at South Granville in Sydney.

“We look forward to inviting customers, both new and existing, to our showroom to demonstrate the latest in Zünd technology and provide training and hints to get the best from their Zünd across a wide range of applications,” Hawkins said.
