Australian printers took six first places and 11 gongs overall from the 37 categories including inkjet printing, digital and offset printing, self-promotion, direct marketing and leaflets. The leaflet and flyer categories were introduced as two separate categories in 2015 in recognition of the widening range of applications that were entered in the competition, and to enable the judges to better assess submissions of different formats. Australia’s Pronto Direct was awarded first place in the leaflets category, as well as direct marketing. Enviro Print Group took first place in the healthcare category and second place in posters and cards and invitations. Condor Printing took away two awards, achieving first place in digital and offset printing and joint second place for cards and invitations. Rooster IMC was awarded first place for self- promotion and second place for catalogues, while Integrated Mailing Service took second place for direct marketing, and Documents on Call was awarded first place for inket printing. The submissions for the Pixi Awards are evaluated based on a five-point criteria comprising print quality, appropriate use of digital technology, innovation, business effectiveness and overall aesthetics. This criterion gives a good balance between the quality and the documents’ ability to achieve the desired result. Mark Brown, marketing manager, production services at Fuji Xerox Australia, says “It is wonderful to see the success of Australian print providers recognised at a regional level. “The innovation and creativity they are demonstrating with their services is amongst the best in the world and they continue to answer briefs with solutions that have a real business impact.”
