EFI takes on superwide giants with Vutek QS220

The QS220 (pictured) fills a gap between the bottom of the previous Vutek line up and sister firm Rastek’s products. It is a two metre wide machine capable of up to 70 square metres per hour output and a maximum resolution of 1,080dpi.

“Unfortunately, many print businesses are forced to choose between high production speeds and high image quality,” said Vutek general manager Dick Wissenbach. “The QS220 is an all-in-one printer…and with pricing comparable to wide-format printers, the QS220 is not only affordable, it’s a smart investment.”

It is based on the company’s established QS2000 machine, but is supplied as a flatbed only rather than a hybrid machine. An optional roll-to-roll upgrade is available should users wish to add that functionality at a later date.

Simon Trytell, EFI’s Australian sales manager for inkjet, said: “The QS220 is an exciting addition to the top-selling VUTEk QS line-up. It’s great to have an entry-level flatbed machine that doesn’t compromise on quality and opens the door to great new business opportunities for local print shops.”

The machine is available locally through DES.
