Fujifilm appoints national sales manager

Tech giant Fujifilm Australia has promoted former NSW account manager Ashley Playford to the role of national sales manager, his predecessor Paul Budgen to set to depart for Fuji Xerox.

According to Fujifilm, Playford has technical credentials, from his industry experience in digital print and prepress at Sony DADC and a career in POP graphic design. Playford served his apprenticeship at UK printer GI Direct and holds a City & Guilds in printing and graphic communications.

Commenting on his promotion, Playford says, “I believe Fujifilm has the most comprehensive portfolio of graphic arts products and services in the industry. We cover litho offset workflow, flexography, wide and superwide format digital, inks plates and other consumables.

Innovation is key to any business success whilst respecting established procedures and methods. I am looking forward to my new role and to continuing Fujifilm’s transformation of our industry through innovation,” he adds.

Playford is replacing former national sales manager Paul Budgen, who is set to shift over to Fuji Xerox Australia after five years at Fuji Film. Budgen is now business development manager for wide format at Fuji Xerox, which has just boosted its wide format portfolio with the addition of the Screen 3200 UV flatbed. It already sells Fujifilm Acuity products.

Fujifilm acting divisional manager for graphic systems Warren Hinder says, “Ashley Playford has performed well since moving from a production role and into sales with Fujifilm. Obviously, his technical experience is appreciated by customers and I am confident he will enjoy even greater success in this national sales managership role.”
